We can do without bowling coach: Mohsin | Pakistan Today | Latest ...

LAHORE?-?The Pakistan Cricket Board?s interim coach Mohsin Hasan Khan shows his desire to be a regular coach of the team provided his chips are placed at the right spot. Talking to journalists on the opening day of the conditioning camp of the Pakistan team preparing for the Sri Lanka series in the UAE, Mohsin said he had taken the job as a challenge.
On Tuesday morning he started the players were training with some warm up which was followed by half-an-hour fielding practice and later regular batting and bowling sessions while all the 15 players selected for the series later spent nearly an hour under the tent having undergone disciplinary lecture.
Later in the evening session, the players got involved into proper drills in al departments of the game.
Talking to journalists after the morning session, Mohsin stressed the need of hard work and showed desire to continue as the coach of the team provided the team performs against one of the toughest oppositions, Sri Lanka.
?I believe in performance and I have seen all the players working hard. It?s the performance that speaks louder than words,? said he.
?Had I been given a job for even a day, I would have taken because this is how I would return to my country which has given me a lot,? he maintained.
?I was an opener and like to take challenges and have taken the coaching job as a challenge. I will do my duty with all my capabilities and abilities. We took calculated risk for the Zimbabwe series and I believe no team is weak but a win always comes as a pleasure.
He also pointed out there is no need of a bowling coach and he would fulfil the requirement with his experience.
?All the players are fit enough to give their best and there are no fitness issues. And there is no compromise on discipline. No player is bigger than the game and the country and the board has tackled the issue of discipline with an iron hand.?
Talking about the series, Mohsin said that the conditions are neutral for both the teams and Sri Lanka is a tough opposition and the team need to stay focused.
