People dream for a reason. We are endowed with the natural sense to aim for greater things. If dreams weren?t meant to be chased, if they?re not meant to come true for those who try, then I?m sure nature wouldn?t entice us with dreams in the first place.

Yet, achieving your dream takes a lot of work. It?s risky too, especially if your dream requires you to ditch your day job! I know that it?s a lot easier to just follow your normal routine of working and paying the bills. But how long could you last doing this without getting fed up? What would happen to you if you eventually get tired and lose passion for the things you do?

If you?re not going to try achieving your dream, you will eventually get tired of what you?re doing. Sure, you?ll find a new job or switch careers, but the cycle will just repeat over and over again. You might even stop dreaming or aspiring for the good things in life. Not following your dreams may secure you a stable life, but for how long? And at what cost to your heart?

Living without Actually Living

It sounds confusing but I?m sure you know what I mean with the statement above. Too many people walk the Earth without actually living their life. They go through their routine every day without even noticing the beautiful things in life.

If achieving your dream is important, then why do so many people insist on living sad and mediocre lives? Is it because achieving their dreams requires a lot of work? Is it because their dream is not realistic? I?m not even sure what the term realistic means for most people. How can people even say a dream is unrealistic when they haven?t even tried working on it?

If you?re still not scared about the costs of not trying to achieve your dreams, then here are reasons why you should follow your dream in the first place:

1. Regret. When you?re about to die, there?s a big chance that you?ll regret the things you didn?t do rather than the things you failed in doing.
2. You owe it to yourself, your family and everyone around you to try. Achieving your dream will inspire other people around you.
3. In the end, what matters most is who you are and what you did with your life. Not the size of your house, your car or even your pay check! What matters is if you lived life doing what you want to do.
4. Achieving your dreams will lead you to even bigger dreams. Hence, it will improve your character and your wisdom.
5. You may be happy but you will never be truly contented. They?re only getting the second-best of what life could give them. Some of them found happiness but none of them found contentment in their lives. They?re still filled with thoughts of ?what-ifs? and ?what-could-have-been?.

Regardless of your age, financial status and responsibilities in life, it?s never too late to achieve your dream. I won?t deny the fact that the process of achieving your dream is full of risks. It?s scary, I know. In spite the risks, people who followed their dreams never regretted what they did.
