In fact, it is highly regulated by licensed professionals. The problem is that anyone can be a ?therapist? without any training or license to practice medicine. Just as anyone can be a ?life coach coaching job,? is etc.LMFT (licensed marriage and family therapist) and LP (licensed psychologists) have ethical guidelines they must follow or risk losing their license. I...do not know where to get theres LMFT, but you can go APA.org code of ethics for psychologists.
