Schola Antiquae Vocis comes to St. David?s Episcopal Church on Saturday, May 21, at 8:00 p.m. The women?s choir, directed by Renato Chiera, performs music from the second to the 19th century, including Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony. Choir members come from Skagit, Whatcom, and Snohomish Counties and have a variety of careers. They all share a common love for studying and singing ancient music. They also want to share the beauty and meditative qualities of this music, which is known to promote spiritual healing and inner peace.
Founder and director, Renato Chiera, studied music at the Roman Philharmonic Academy in Italy and was a member and soloist in the choir of St. Peter?s Basilica at the Vatican. For more information visit www.savocis.org or call 378-5360.
